We're excited to offer you the chance to join us as Product Marketing Strategist at Gain.pro, an emerging winner in the financial data space. We initiated Gain.pro five years ago with the ambitious mission of transforming the way professionals find, understand and track the businesses that matter to them. Alongside our Head of Product, you will spearhead the realization of this vision. Since 2018, Gain.pro has been doubling its business year over year, aiming boldly to become the world’s premier private market intelligence platform by 2028. The company currently boasts a roster of 240 exceptional team members and is trusted by top-tier investors (e.g., KKR, Blackstone, Insight Partners), advisors (e.g., Goldman Sachs, Lazard, Big4), and consultants (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG). Our Product Team – soon with four dedicated members – is in its formative stages and has been identified as an area for strategic growth. We are now looking for a fifth team member that will drive product messaging to increase awareness and understanding of our product both within our internal team and with our customers. You will report to our Head of Product and will work closely with several other departments including Sales, Marketing, Customer Success and Engineering. Product marketing will be a pivotal position at the crossroads of aforementioned teams. You will create product messaging, crafting content that distills complex ideas into clear, compelling value propositions that demonstrate product benefits and capabilities. Additionally, you will analyze the competitive landscape to identify our unique selling points and potential weaknesses we should address. In doing so, you will provide input for our product roadmap.

Job requirements

What will be your responsibilities?

  • Value proposition messaging: You will craft content that clearly outlines what customers stand to benefit from our solution in a manner that resonates with them. Your messages will effectively position our product within the market.
  • Create sales & marketing collateral: You will support development of sales enablement strategies, creating compelling content such as trainings, product assets, collateral, presentations and case studies that the team can use to educate and excite customers about our product. You will lead or support demo sessions and may participate in sales pitches.
  • Grow awareness and stimulate adoption: Both our external customers and our internal teams need to be kept up to speed on product developments. For our customers you will shape product narratives that drive awareness, engagement and feature adoption. For our internal teams you will create release notes both for the entire company as well as tailored messaging for relevant teams.
  • Conduct market research: You will drive research into competitive threats and challenges to inform how we should position Gain.pro in a rapidly changing market. These insights will help you identify and define key value drivers that differentiate us in the market. You will interact with our customers to research and document customer use cases and identify problems that Gain.pro solves.
  • Support product research: Partner with the Sales and Customer Success teams to support win/loss analyses, improving our understanding of why we win, where we win, who to target and what to avoid. You will monitor adoption and usage of features using analytics tools and translate these insights into tangible inputs for our product roadmap and/or product marketing materials to stimulate improved usage.
Who are you?
  • 2+ years experience within Consulting, PE or M&A: To effectively communicate the value of our product we believe it is essential to have prior experience within one of our Ideal Customer Profile segments. This will deepen your understanding of the value we offer and allow you to speak to customers using their language. Many of our colleagues have similar backgrounds including the Head of Product (consulting) and our co- CEOs (consulting and PE).
  • Outstanding communicator: You can distill sophisticated ideas into clear and compelling value propositions that demonstrate product benefits and capabilities. You ask questions to continuously refine your understanding of the market and our value proposition.
  • Team player: You are comfortable being in a central role in the organization and communicating with multiple teams to deliver results in a fast-moving environment.
  • Empathetic: You are sensitive to the needs of our customers and internal teams and understand how you or Gain.pro can best support them to achieve their aims.
  • Analytical: You are able to analyse, interpret and leverage data to identify new business opportunities and define KPIs to measure and report success. You enjoy using data to measure results, inform decision-making and contribute to strategy development.
  • Velocity mindset: We are a team of doers who prioritize execution over deliberation. We favor lean operations, speedy product development and minimal bureaucracy. Our motto is to move as quickly as possible, but not at the expense of quality. This mindset should resonate with you for your success within our organization.

  • Available to work from our Amsterdam office for two days per week.  You are welcome to come to the office more!
